Step 1: Measure Your Neck Length

This is done by capturing DICOP – (Distance Between C7 Vertebrae And Occipital Protuberance)

  • To measure ‘Neck length’ or ‘Cervical Lordosis’, capture the distance between the upper and lower ends of the Neck Curve.
  • Stand straight, look at eye level (don’t bend your head).
  • Take a ruler to the back of your neck and place it on the most prominent bone on the spine (C7 vertebra), at the junction of the Neck and Back.
  • Now feel the Occipital Protuberance (a tiny bony projection on the lower back of your head, just above the neck. This is the most outward point of your head above the neck).
  • The distance between the above points is DICOP or Neck Length.

Step 2: Measure Your Shoulder Broadness

How To Measure Thickness of Your Pillow

  • Stand straight with one of your arms pressing into a wall. Ensure that:
    • A. You are neither facing the wall nor have your back towards it.
    • B. Your body and wall are making a 90-degree angle, and you are looking parallel to the wall.
  • Do NOT tilt your head left or right.
  • Measure the distance between the wall and the Tragus (a small cartilage on the ear).
  • You need a Neckfit as thick as this measurement MINUS 1-1.5 inches.

Step 3: Buy a Neckfit that Matches Your Size

Tips on Using Neckfit

  1. If you are not using any pillow right now and, based on your measurements, you need a 4.5-inch thick pillow, it may not work for you immediately as your body may not accept such a big change. Your spine might hurt. Start with a 2.5-inch thick pillow, and as your body becomes accustomed, gradually increase to 3.5 or 4.5 inches depending on your comfort level. Achieving the correct spinal posture may be a one- or two-step journey with Neckfit!
  2. Do NOT force yourself to use Neckfit if it doesn’t work for you at first. Keep in mind that for nearly a third of your life, you’ve either not used a pillow or used one of a different shape/style/thickness. Habits take time to change. Start using Neckfit for shorter durations (30–60 minutes), and as you get comfortable, slowly increase the time. Soon, you’ll find yourself using it throughout the night, and your pain will have substantially reduced or disappeared.
  3. To maintain Neckfit’s fluffiness, occasionally place it in the sun for 2-3 hours.
